Executive Coaching – Worth the Money?
Posted by Laura Lorber

At what point does it make sense for a small company to turn to executive coaching?

An article and a video posted on the WSJ site looks at a family-owned business that's a firm believer in executive coaching.

The company credits coaching with helping it recover from losing its biggest client, and has found the best ways to use each executive's talents.

The article references  the 2008 Sherpa Executive Coaching Survey, stating that about half of coaching now is used for leadership development, while only  a third is aimed at solving specific problems.

The survey results are available for free download at www.sherpacoaching.com
In its third year, the Sherpa Survey identifies trends in leadership development and coaching.

The Sherpa site also covers  Penn State's upcoming executive coaching certification. Classes start in July.
